Shanhe Jiang

Shanhe Jiang is a professor of criminology at Wayne State University. His recent research focuses on place and crime, institutional and community corrections, and semiformal social control. He is the co-Principal Investigator of the U.S. Department of Justice funded project “Prolific Offender Surveillance and Apprehension Unit Smart Policing Initiative” (2015-2018). His paper titled “Social Ties, Collective Efficacy and Perceived Neighborhood Property Crime in Guangzhou, China" was selected by the Asian Criminological Society to receive the 2006-2013 Best Paper Award in 2015. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Wuhan University, a master’s degree in sociology from Nanking University, and a doctorate in sociology from the State University of New York at Albany.
