The mission of the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing is to advance the practice of the problem-oriented approach to policing in free and democratic societies by making accessible research- and practice-based knowledge about effective methods of addressing specific policing problems.

In Memoriam
Ronald V. Clarke (1941-2025) was University Professor at Rutgers University-Newark School of Criminal Justice and one of the three co-founders of the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing. His work in situational crime prevention was integrated with the principles and practice of problem-oriented policing. His scholarship and leadership directly and indirectly influenced all who work toward safer and securer societies. He will be personally and professionally missed.
