Richard Wortley is professor at University College London and director of the Jill Dando Institute for Crime Science. He previously was professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. Before taking up a university appointment, he worked as a prison psychologist for 10 years. He is a past national chair of the Australian College of Forensic Psychologists. He is widely published in the areas of situational crime prevention, corrections, and sexual offending. He is the author of Situational Prison Control: Crime Prevention in Correctional Institutions.
