Professor Mike Hough is professor of Criminal Policy at the School of Law, Kings College London, and director of the Institute for Criminal Policy Research (ICPR). The institute is one of the largest of its sort in Britain. It has a staff of 15, carrying out policy research for central and local government and for independent funders. Hough has extensive experience in quantitative research methods, especially large-scale sample surveys such as the British Crime Survey and the Policing for London survey. He has published extensively on topics including crime prevention and community safety, policing, probation and drugs. (See www.kcl.ac.uk/icpr for publications.)
