Giodude05: Sp cq drugs

1. To what extent are street prostitutes, clients and pimps engaged in the sale or use of drugs?

Street prostitutes, clients and pimps all in some way do engage in the sale or use of drugs. Many of the prostitutes themselves are addicted to the use of drugs and find no problem in exchanging sex for drugs. Pimps although we’re barely mentioned probably also engage in the sale of drugs to make double the profit on the prostitutes. Lastly the clients are known to exchange drugs for sex with prostitutes, but also a small precent are also the dealers who sale the drugs thus exchanging it for sex.

2. Are street prostitution and street drug markets near each other?

They are most certainly near each other if not on top of each other. When looking at the map we saw that a great number of drug arrests happen exactly where sex offense happening as well. Also further evidence of this to be the case would be how many of the prostitutes themselves are addicted to the drugs, meaning that both markets are at the least in talks.

3. Do street prostitutes exchange sex directly for drugs?

Yes, it has been states by both prostitutes and John’s that prostitutes will happily exchange sex directly for drugs. This is because many of those same prostitutes are addicted to those drugs which helps them stop their craves.

Giodude05: Sp cq sexual transactions

1. How, specifically, do street prostitutes and clients negotiate and complete sexual transactions?

The typical negotiation and complete sexual transactions is really only oral sex in the John’s vehicle in a dim lit area. The reason to why John’s request oral sex in their vehicles is because they don’t want to be seen or caught with a prostitute. Especially since most of these John’s are family men, men with high social standings, etc and don’t want to be seen or spotted with a prostitutes.

2. Do clients solicit prostitutes on foot or from a vehicle?

Typically clients solicit prostitutes from their vehicle as mentioned in the last question. Although there were some cases where the prostitutes actually bring clients to the Secrete Inn where do the deed.

3. Where do the sexual transactions take place?

Most of these sexual transactions take place on the street hence the name street prostitutes however, some do occur by near business that actively show support towards prostitutes and thus allow for sexual transactions to take place there.

4. Do prostitutes and clients take precautions to prevent sexually-transmitted disease?

I’m sure the prostitutes try to take precautions however I don’t remember in the interviews them saying they take precautions to prevent diseases. For the clients I also can’t say because only one of them “Richard Myers” said he takes precautions in preventing sexually-transmitted diseases. My overall conclusion is that both the prostitutes and clients aren’t taking any real precautions to preventing sexually-transmitted diseases.

Giodude05: Sp cq street prostitutes

1. Does street prostitution take only one form (e.g., female prostitutes and male clients), or are there several different forms (e.g., homosexual or transvestite prostitution)?

No it only took the form as female prostitutes and male clients. Never once in my reading did I interviewed any homosexual or transvestite prostitutes.

2. What is known about the prostitutes (e.g., age, gender, race, criminal history, social service history, substance abuse history, residence)?

What is known about the prostitutes is gender female, criminal history some having repeat sentencing, and most having current substance addiction to drugs. Age with never mention although if I had to guess probably 20-40 range. Race was bring up, residence can be considered, and social service history is mentioned at the beginning but was not brought up with the prostitutes themselves.

3. Do street prostitutes commit crimes against clients (e.g., robbery or theft)?

From all the interviews that I had with the John’s and prostitutes themselves none of them ever said that prostitutes commit crimes against clients. In fact it’s the John’s that commit crimes against the prostitutes.

4. Are street prostitutes the victims of crime?

As I stated in the last question the John’s commit crimes against the prostitutes, which can insinuate that prostitutes are victims of crime like assault which go unreported.

5. How committed are prostitutes to prostitution?

A great majority of them said in the interviews that they are addicted to drugs and needing to have a “hit” makes them committed to the prostitution scene a lot more than normally. The addiction is so bad that often prostitutes lower their prices to incentivize John’s to pay for their services.

6. How committed are they to a particular location?

There are not as committed to a particular location as one might think. More often than not the prostitutes have said they like upper part of Scott Avenue due to better money and less violent John’s. But when there is a police presence many just leave to the lower blocks of Scott Avenue as a last resort due to needing money. However they also said that you are more likely to not be paid as much and are more likely to be assaulted.
