carmella.olla_: Sp cq street prostitutes

1. Does street prostitution take only one form (e.g., female prostitutes and male clients), or are there several different forms (e.g., homosexual or transvestite prostitution)?

No, it doesn't. Men can also be prostitutes, but it is much more likely to find a female prostitute & male client. In this scenario, most, if not all of the prostitutes, were females.

2. What is known about the prostitutes (e.g., age, gender, race, criminal history, social service history, substance abuse history, residence)?

It does not say anything about their age, race, or residence. You can take a guess if they are female or not by their names. Some of the prostitutes had talked about drug problems, some talked about worrying about being arrested, some talked about not feeling like they could get help.

3. Do street prostitutes commit crimes against clients (e.g., robbery or theft)?

They probably do, but I didn't see much talking about them robbing their clients. They know who they are and want them to come back, and wouldn't if they were robbed. The prostitutes did say things about blackmailing them and not telling the people who know them.

4. Are street prostitutes the victims of crime?

Yes. Sexual assaults, robberies, drug overdoses.

5. How committed are prostitutes to prostitution?

I'm not sure. Some talked about continuing to do this because they felt like they had no other option or help.

6. How committed are they to a particular location?

It didn't say too much about them wanting to stay in the same place. They like it where it's busy & crowded, and where they feel safe.
