bmp: Sp cq pimps

1. Do the prostitutes work for pimps or others who profit from their income?

Yes, certain businesses like the package liquor store at 511 Scott Ave., Secrete Inn at 388 Scott Ave., Team Sports Bar at 1313 Scott Ave., and Rec Plex at 1401 Scott Ave. either pimp or clearly profit from the income the prostitutes and clients bring in.

Prostitutes have turned to the Upper Scott Avenue for safety and better income instead of the lower end where the drug markets are, where drugs are more into place and violence as well.

Should be noted that it's moreso prostitutes working to payoff debt from purchasing drugs, or working for drugs. Violet, one of the prostitutes interviewed, said most girls don't work for a pimp. Instead they work to pay off debt to drug dealers, or work for "dope". Also noted that it is said that some bars expect cash in order for girls to hang out, and then solicit customers.

Drugs, low income, and businesses allowing, catering, or benefiting from prostitution are key underlying issues.
