Lath8n: Sp cq street prostitutes

1. Does street prostitution take only one form (e.g., female prostitutes and male clients), or are there several different forms (e.g., homosexual or transvestite prostitution)?

In the module, from what I could gather, because this is my last part and I'm at my budget, it only talks about one form of prostitution, which is female prostitutes and male clients.

2. What is known about the prostitutes (e.g., age, gender, race, criminal history, social service history, substance abuse history, residence)?

Women of many different ages who have a long criminal history of prostitution, who rely on this as their living because of their record and addiction to drugs.

3. Do street prostitutes commit crimes against clients (e.g., robbery or theft)?

Yes, one of the students mentions being assaulted and robbed while paying for services, and the crime map shows there is a high influx of these crimes in the area, so they could be related.

4. Are street prostitutes the victims of crime?

Yes, because most are assaulted while performing these services, and in society, it can lead to much worse, like murder.

5. How committed are prostitutes to prostitution?

I wouldn't say they are committed to it, but they rely on it heavily because of their criminal history, drug addiction, and feel they have no one to rely on.

6. How committed are they to a particular location?

They know they get more business in certain areas, but they will move around if law enforcement displaces them from those areas.

Alexa Torres: Sp cq clients johns

1. What is known about the clients (e.g., age, race, occupation, socio-economic status, marital status, criminal history, residence)?

The clients are usually men who come to certain area looking for prostitutes. some visit regularly, like a few times a month, while other come when buying drugs. They are concerned about safety avoiding police and not getting diseases. some prefer familiar prostitutes they trust. others may also be involved in drug use and sometimes trade drugs for sexual service.

2. How committed are clients to prostitution?

Clients are somewhat committed but not always consistent. Some return regularly, like Richard, who goes a few times each month, while others engage when the opportunity comes up, like Jim, when he is buying drugs. This shows that some plan it while others do it more casually

3. What groups are particularly concerned and why? What specific concerns are expressed?

The clients themselves are concerned about getting caught by the police and getting a disease. They also worry about safety, such as whether an area is dangerous or if a prostitute might be an undercover officer. Because of this, they prefer familiar areas and people they recognize.

4. How committed are they to soliciting prostitutes on the street or in a particular area?

Clients tend to stick to specific areas they feel are safe, like main streets or ones they know. For example, ricks stay on main roads and avoid unsafe areas, and if no one is there, they leave and come back another time. This shows they are somewhat committed to certain locations but will leave if conditions don't feel right

The client either walks up to a prostitute or drives up.
