Steven M. Chermak is professor in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University. He is also a lead investigator affiliated with the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terror. Dr. Chermak’s research interests include criminal and terrorist activities, intelligence practices of state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies, funding of terrorist organizations, and the media’s role in relation to crime and terrorism issues. Dr. Chermak has authored two and edited seven books, and published numerous journal articles, monographs, and research reports. He was previously on the faculty at Indiana University. Dr. Chermak holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s and doctorate from the State University of New York at Albany.
