Kate Bowers is a professor and head of the Department of Security and Crime Science and director of the Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science, University College London. She has a particular interest in design against crime, crime prevention evaluation, and spatial and temporal patterns in crime. She has managed research grants from a variety of sponsors such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Department for Education and Skills, and the Home Office. She has co-edited two books and has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and 15 book chapters on topics relating to environmental criminology and crime science. She has a doctorate from the University of Liverpool.
