Aiden Sidebottom is a Senior Lecturer at the UCL Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science at University College London. His research interests include problem-oriented policing, situational crime prevention, crime prevention evaluation, the application of evolutionary and psychological theory to crime, and design against crime. Winner of the annual UCL Jill Dando Institute scholarship, Sidebottom holds a master of science and doctorate in crime science from University College London and a bachelor's degree in applied psychology from the University of Durham. He has edited a journal special edition concerned with environmental criminology and crime analysis, and worked on various projects with numerous sponsors including the AHRC, ESRC, EPSRC, Home Office and several UK police forces. He has published over 25 articles in the fields of policing and criminology in journals such as Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency and Journal of Experimental Criminology.
